Good Samaritans
Ministries & Groups   >   Liturgical Ministries   >   Good Samaritans

Good Samaritan, Joan Craft, distributes the Host to a resident at Treemont Retirement Center at St. Rita's weekly Friday afternoon Mass there.

The Good Samaritan Page!

“And to those who are absent a portion is sent by the deacons.”
-Saint Justin Martyr (2nd Century)

Thanks for your interest in Good Samaritans! This is a very special ministry, offering Christ to those on the margins. This is an ancient ministry. Christians have been carrying the Eucharist to their brothers and sisters since the very beginning. It's a powerful service of love that has changed the lives of innumerable brothers and sisters!

Potential new ministers must first receive training regarding the rules that pertain to the carrying of the Eucharist to the sick. They do not meet together weekly or monthly, but have an annual Day of Reflection where they come together to meet new ministers and support each other with prayer and fellowship.

For more information on becoming a part of this ministry, please contact Gerry Schlak, Director: 214-352-7650.
