Charter of the St. Rita Vocations Council
The Council was formed in March 2001 to serve the Community in the following ways:
- By encouraging a heightened awareness within our community that God is calling each of us to serve him in some way, and the importance of our listening to that call.
- By increasing the awareness within our community that the Church is in great need of generous and enthusiastic responses to God's call to be priests, deacons, religious brothers and sisters.
- By encouraging prayer for vocations throughout the parish, including personal prayer, prayer from the pulpit, prayer at meetings of parish organizations, in St. Rita School and Sunday School classes.
- By providing support to parish organizations, St. Rita School, and Sunday School classes by suggesting, arranging, and assistimg with vocation awareness activities.
- By providing vocation awareness materials and speakers to parish organizations, St. Rita School, and Sunday School classes with the generous assistance of the Knights of St. Columbus and the Serra Club.
- By creating and maintaining an extensive library of videos about religious vocations and orders, available to parishoners through the Office of Religious Education.
- By sponsoring a variety of vocation awareness activities throughout the parish, St. Rita School, and Sunday School classes during National Awareness Week each January.
