A Novena for Blessed Theresa of Calcutta
A novena to observe the 100th birthday of Blessed Mother Theresa of Calcutta will begin with a Mass celebrated by Bishop Charles Grahmann on Thursday, August 26 at 7:00 p.m. at the Cathedral Shrine of the Virgin of Guadalupe located at 2215 Ross Ave., Dallas, 75201. A novena Mass will be celebrated each evening beginning Friday, August 27 through Friday, September 3 at 6:30 p.m. at St. James Parish located at 1002 E. Saner Ave., Dallas, 75216. The final novena Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 4 at St. James Parish at 9:00 a.m. with Bishop Mark Seitz presiding.

Young Catholic Professionals Speaker Series
Join Catholic Charities of Dallas at the next networking event of the newly formed Young Catholic Professionals and the launch of the group’s speaker series, August 31 at Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 7:00 p.m. in St. Ann’s Hall. Daniel Hennessy will speak to the group after a member networking hour. All are welcome to join! Bus Tour with Catholic Charities of Dallas
Hop on the bus! Please accept the invitation to tour and witness the mission of Catholic Charities of Dallas. See first-hand how this important ministry is providing help and creating hope. Attend the tour on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. The bus will leave from the Central Services Office at 9561 LBJ Freeway, Suite 128, Dallas, Texas 75243. Learning Opportunities at the University of Dallas
Adult Faith Formation classes, offered by the School of Ministry of the University of Dallas, provide an opportunity for adults to come to know, love, and live their faith through the study of various topics all taught from a Catholic perspective. This fall’s course offerings include Faith, Film & Fiction; Monks, Mystics, and Mendicants on Spirituality; The Apocryphal Gospels; and Intro to the Catechism. Classes will begin in September 2010. The School of Ministry also provides other adult continuing education options, such as the Catholic Bible School and the After the New Testament Series. The Emmaus Road Initiative, Presentations on the theology of Benedict XVI
Gil Bailie, renowned speaker, founder of the Cornerstone Forum, and also an expert in the thought of literary theorist Rene Girard, will be giving a series of presentations on the theology of Pope Benedict XVI. The three dates for the Fall are September 17, October 15, and November 26, all at 7:00pm. The first presentation will be held in Gorman B; all subsequent talks will be held in Gorman faculty Lounge. The presentations are free of charge and open to all-welcome to the University of Dallas!
