“But all things should be done decently and in order.”
- 1 Corinthians 14:40
The Holy Spirit dwells within the whole Body of Christ. Since the beginning of the Church’s history, from Acts of the Apostles through the Rule of Saint Benedict, counsel and collaboration has part of Catholic life. This is true for our life at St. Rita too. Below are some of the councils active at St. Rita’s.
The Parish Pastoral Council
The St. Rita Pastoral Council meets monthly to assist the Pastor in his care of our community. The Pastoral Council serves in an advisory capacity to the Pastor and provides input and support to our vision for the Parish and the Church's mission. The twelve rotating members of the Council are actively involved in the St. Rita community and advise the Pastor on all matters pertaining to parish life, and oversee the development and implementation of the Parish's vision to Gather, Worship, Serve, and Renew.

The Finance Council
Canon Law requires that all parishes have a Finance Council. St. Rita’s Finance Council provides guidance to the Pastor and the Parish Business Administrator in carrying out their administrative and financial responsibilities relating to St. Rita Parish and St. Rita Catholic School. The Council has financial and accounting oversight responsibilities for both Parish and School.
The council consists of the Pastor, the Parish Business Administrator and nine to ten members of the Parish who are accountants, lawyers, or other business professionals. Members of other Councils (e.g., the Parish Council and the School Advisory Council) are often asked to participate in Finance Council meetings and deliberations.

The Care Ministries Council
The Care Ministry Council helps coordinate the services provided by the Care Ministries for the benefit of the St. Rita Community under the direction of the Pastor. Care ministries address both the acute and ongoing physical, financial, emotional, or spiritual needs of our parishioners. The Council serves the Pastor by providing communication, education, awareness, and referrals between the care ministries, supporting both individually and collectively the 11 ministries comprising the Council. The goal of the Council is to; 1) improve overall pastoral care ministry effectiveness and efficiency, 2) establish unified communications among ministries, pastoral staff, and the community, 3) provide educational opportunities to support our pastoral Care Ministries and the community, and 4) enhance awareness and utilization of the member ministries our community.

The Hispanic Ministries Council
The Hispanic Ministries Council is comprised of a representative from each of our active ministries that serve our Spanish-speaking community members at St. Rita. The council serves as both an organizing and advocating body, serving the needs of the community by working with clergy and parish staff collaboratively on parish initiatives and annual events. The council meets monthly during the school year.
